This is really a beautiful book, and if it had had something to say about gardening I would probably have kept it.

This book of months is full of lovely woodcut illustrations and poems that are pleasing to the ear. At the end there is a Q & A about the moon. It would make a nice addition to my granddaughters' bookshelves.

Beautiful, bold woodcut-style artwork illustrating a garden concept for each letter of the alphabet. Some of them will raise a laugh -- wait until you see the gardener's face as she lugs the zucchini!

This is an alphabet book in which each letter of the alphabet is given with a gardening-related word. For example, a is for arbor, b is for bulbs, c is for compost, etc. There is no story and some of the words are tricky, so this would be more of a lapsit read-aloud than an independent reading or storytime book. However, the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous so this book is worth sharing for that reason alone. Families that enjoy gardening or visiting gardens will particularly like this one.
