Great start to a series. I hate for sequels, so I hope this author doesn't PatRothfuss us.
The author's gift for dialog is awesome. The banter was realistic and very witty at the same time. Although, there didn't seem to be a variation in the characters intelligence levels. Many had the same level of wittiness, which made it a wee bit 2d.
There was a ton of relationship building where the author disregarded the magic, the protagonists, and main subject of the book. I found myself wanting to rush through the "I love you, Rachel" moments to get to the good parts.
Very enjoyable read, and the audiobook narrator was really good! Luke Daniels really brought a whole new level to this book.… (mehr)

We actually read this in Spanish, but Goodreads isn't bringing up that version. My niece got excited, saying she loves the David books, but I didn't care too much for it. The illustrations are weird.
