This was a very cool book! It has received up and down reviews though, but I usually like reading books like this, so I just forged ahead to decide on my own and I am sure glad that I did as I enjoyed the book!

There are lots of stories of objects that are haunted within these pages. The author goes into extreme detail of all the objects expressing to the reader the origination of the object and why it could be haunted. Dolls are mentioned within this book including the famous doll, Annabelle, along with the haunted doll, Robert. There are other different things that were mentioned in the book that I hadn't read before in any other book. The author did have one story about the haunted painting that was sold on ebay a few years ago. I read a book a little over a year ago about that painting.

All the stories were interesting and some of them were kind of spooky. I was creeped out on a few of them as I was reading them late at night and the house was quiet until I would hear a noise then I would get spooked! :) The other cool thing about the book is that the author has a glossary at the end of the book giving the meaning of words that were used throughout the book. There is also a list of almost all the paranormal groups within the U.S. coast to coast which I found interesting. The author is the head of one of those paranormal groups. Giving this book four spooky stars!

I picked up this book because it reminded me of many conversations I have had with my cousin-in-law about the TV programme "Haunted Collector". She watches it, I don't because I don't have TV, but some of he tales seemed interesting. This books seems to follow similar lines, it breaks stories down into sub-types and discusses the paranormal activity that supposedly goes on around these objects. It was refreshing to read that the author, despite being a paranormal investigator, acknowledges coincidence and worldly phenomena as the most likely causes of happenings rather than things ethereal. It was an amusing book, but until something explainable happens to me, I'm not going to believe all I read. If you like ghost stories and the paranormal, this is a book you would clearly enjoy.… (mehr)

Enjoyed this book overall. It features some of the stories that we are all familiar with like Anabelle the doll. But there was another one that was a haunted doll named Richard. Is broken down into several sections: jewelry, furniture, toys, mirrors etc. Again I liked it overall and it had a couple of stories that were from the authors themselves. The last chapter details museums that have haunted objects.

Review:
I found this book to be interesting. It actually focused on some of the less known haunting out there instead of the usual high profile cases that have been written about over and over (ex: resurrection Mary and the rail road crossing that ghost children are said to push stalled cars over to safety). This book also goes into to some of the technical details of ghost hunting such as the various apparitions that can manifest and some of the tools of the trade. If you interested in the paranormal or want a better understanding of what all those people on TV are running around doing, this is a good place to start.

My only real problem with this book is that the editing could have been a bit better as some of the sections just seemed out of context or left me scratching my head trying to figure out what they were talking about. Other than that there is a ton of web links to look up, a glossary of terms and a glossary of ghost hunting organizations across the country and a fold out map of places ghost hunters can visit. I would recommend this to any one who is looking for a good ghost story book and those who want to learn a little bit more about how the ghost hunters do their hunting. M.a.c
