Geology for the layman and rockhound : a guide to… von F. A. Barnes
As a layman who has never been to the canyon country described in this book, I can say that it is informative and easily understandable. It would be even more interesting if I had been there, or had plans to go. This book was my parent's book and they loved this area of the southwest. Barnes lays a good foundation for understanding what you are seeing and where to see it.
A guide to understanding the unique and spectaacular geology of the canyon country of southeastern Utah and vicinity, with a special section on rockhounding.
