This book is a good one for families, and certainly for people who live in northern climates. Many craft ideas are child-friendly and use materials that are easy to gather in the woods or that many people already have in their homes. The recipes are simple and easy to make. This is not Martha Stewart-level crafting and cooking, but humble, rustic, simple, and plain. For anyone looking to de-commercialize Christmas and bring it back to an easier, more spiritual, family-oriented holiday, this book will provide many ideas. Although I live in southern Arizona, I am able to extrapolate from some of these ideas and use what is available to me in the Sonora Desert so that my simple Christmas reflects my own environment.… (mehr)
