Aunt Laura is a pseudonym for Frances Elizabeth Barrow. This copy is in poor condition, but it contains some nteresting inscriptions by previous owners: "This book was little Harry's..."
Aunt Laura is the pen name of Elizabeth Barrow (1822-1894). This book is one of a series mentioned in the Miniature Book News #50, Sept 1982, pp 1-2, and also referred to in Bondy, p. 73. Robert Massman writes that this Breed & Butler Series is among the rarest and most desirable of tiny American imprints. The book was purchased at Bookman's Used Books on 3/16/83. It is a very fine copy in excellent condition, and is the first true miniature book that I purchased. It is an excellent specimen. Dawson's Bookshop listed this for sale in their 1986 List #148 for $100.… (mehr)
