I recall reading and enjoying this book, but somehow neglected to write a review. What else can I say? I liked it.

Won this from Early Reviewers.
This was an entertaining read. Designed for grade school age children it tells about acts of nature and man made disasters, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornados, floods, volcanos and the like. explaining the possible causes of these as well as telling the history of them. Also tells of people who work in fields related to these disasters and how they put their lives on the line to help us understand disasters.

A fun and informative collection of mini-bios of people and events related to some of history's greatest explosions. This kids' book is one of a series for middle grades, with pictures and homemade experiments included. The disasters, inventions, and scientists mentioned in this work span the globe and historical eras. There are plenty of links and a bibliography for further reading as well. Recommended.

Another nifty little title by Stephanie Bearce and Prufrock Press. This is the 4th one I've read, and the 3rd in Ms. Bearce's "science is fun and wonderful" theme (the 4th was about 1920s gangsters), and each one has been absolutely delightful. These were the types of books that I would just eat up when I was late grade school - they made me interested in absolutely everything around me. Get them for any kids you know, they'll love them.
