- Pen name of Doug Whiteway. A Carleton University journalism school graduate, he worked as a reporter for the Dauphin Herald in the late 1970s and for the Winnipeg Free Press in the 1980s. As an independent writer, he has contributed to numerous magazines, newspapers, and corporate communications. He has been a recipient of a National Magazine Award, two Western Magazine Awards, and an Arthur Ellis Award for the best first mystery novel, Death at Buckingham Palace (1996). He is the author of the Her Majesty Investigates series of crime novels, which incudes Death at Windsor Castle, and the Father Christmas series, which includes Twelve Drummers Drumming and Eleven Pipers Piping.

Twelve Drummers Drumming: A Father Christmas Mystery von C.C. Benison
2½ stars. While the mystery aspect was decent, there was something in the setting or writing that struck me as a bit wrong - I can't really describe what it is. I will try another one to see if this feeling is specifically related to this book or affects the whole series...
Not part of the Twelve Days of Christmas series per se but still set in the same area and with the same main characters. Good romp for those of us missing Father Christmas.
I liked the writing, but there was too much of it.
This book could have been half as long as it is.
By the halfway point, I was more than ready for the "let me tell you why I asked you all here" scene.
