This book is about “The War Weapons of World War II.” it is also comparing how weapons in World War II. Also, how it is now in present day. It explains about different bombs, guns, boats and more. Last but not least, it talks about how the weapons evolve to present day weapon and World War II weapons.
My opinion on the book is, it is very short but can give a lot of information about the weapons World War II. And how World War II used to defend and protect themselves with the weapons. It also is very realistic and interesting to read about the thinking The Hitler and his allies had with weapons. Lastly I think it was disappointing how the book didn’t have information on certain knifes like a pocket knife. But this book was interesting as it is. personally I like reading about World War II so I enjoyed reading this book.… (mehr)

This is a book that talks about the various weapons used during World War II. It's contents range from guns to ballistic missiles. There is some background on these weapons that can help you understand them. You can use this information and some knowledge you already know to see how these weapons evolved. An example of this is a World War II tank compared to a modern tank. Unlike what the cover leads you to believe it does not talk about flamethrowers. It has two questions at the beginning of the book that you can answer using the book.
My opinion on the book is that the book is decent. It is a little bit short, but it does give a lot of information. I was disappointed when I saw that they did not talk about flamethrowers, this is the big reason it is only decent. If you want a quick read on some of the weaponry of World War II. It obviously is not as high as the other books I have reviewed, but it is still a pretty good book. There is not much else to say about the book. The book starts about talking about the tensions that were building between the United States and Japan years before Pearl Harbor. The United States was fearful of the Axis Powers of Germany, Italy and Japan acquiring too much land and power. The United States did everything they could diplomatically to not allow Japan to acquire the resources needed to continue with its war in Asia. Japan realized they needed to attack the United States and deal a knockout blow to the United States Pacific Fleet stationed in Hawaii. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and dealt the United States a major blow. It was not the knockout blow they were looking for as many of the ships that sunk were recommissioned a few months later and were used to fight the duration of the war. Over 2,000 servicemen were killed by Japan’s attack. A few day later, President Roosevelt went to Congress and asked them to declare war on the Empire of Japan. Congress passed the resolution and the United States was then officially in World War II. A few days later Germany declared war on the United States. The book was very informative and had very good insight. I liked how the story had both Japan and America’s differing perspectives and the escalating tensions between the two countries. The pictures were authentic and helped the reader visualize the historical event much more. Good book to have a student learn about World War II and Pearl Harbor.… (mehr)

As this book is an informational text students will be required to
extract data and facts to create meaning and develop inquiry. Students will do an experiment which entails the dissection of a fish in order to better understand how fish are able to live underwater. Comparisons will be made between the lungs of humans and fish. No humans will be dissected.
Students will create a device using only materials found in the class rooms that allows you to breathe under water. The device will be constructed and explained as if the student group was presenting a sales pitch.… (mehr)
