The pictures in Bearport books are always stunning. I love the newness of the idea of following a dog's growth from embryo to adult. The book includes a glossary, extra facts and a website to learn more online--all the features that make it a great non fiction book. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I never had a student ask for this type of information in the 12 years I worked as an elementary school librarian. I am not sure how popular this subject will be with children. It will be interesting to see if this series "See Them Grow" takes off.… (mehr)

This is an informational book about apples. It is a good example of an informational book because of the clear labeling, descriptions, and overall information given about apples within the book. It starts by describing what an apple is the main shape, and color of apples and when they are harvested. Then we go through the life cycle of apples from seed, to tree, to fruit, and back again. I liked how clear and concise the book was, it included a lot of information in an easy to understand format. Media: Photography.… (mehr)
