I chose this book, because even as an adult, I find that I can sometimes find myself feeling left out, and I can let my imagination and speculation get the best of me without ever fully knowing the full story behind an event. This is s great story about misunderstanding and can teach children a lesson about not jumping to conclusions until they have a full picture.

Summary: Matilda and Libby were friends; however, Matilda borrowed Libby’s stuff without saying anything. Therefore, Libby dislikes her. When Libby feels bad, Matilda comes her home and cheers her up.
*Children can engage in prosocial behavior and can make inferences about the feelings and intentions of others. Furthermore, they can judge the appropriateness of specific behaviors and predict the possible consequences of particular behaviors.

I think this book is important to read to our younger students because it is a subject that is relatable for their age group. I think it teaches children that these feelings can be normal, and that sometimes expressing them to our friends can help to avoid hurt feelings.… (mehr)
