This book is about a little girl named Nadia who going through her bedtime routine, and her parents ask her questions to help prompt her to get ready for bed. This book has some sight words and easy words for a new reader or someone who is learning to read. This book would be appropriate for a child who is learning to read or is a new reader.

I absolutely loved reading this book. It started off by mentioning some of Lamarr's accomplishments to draw the reader in. It then goes back and introduces her as a girl from Austria who had big dreams of being a movie star. It speaks in detail of her rise to fame through the movie industry in Hollywood and progresses into her contributions to studies about radio frequency. I appreciated the books recognition of failed attempts at this invention and theme of perseverance and hard work to make your dreams come true. I think this is a great lesson for kids to learn and learning it from a true story is inspiring.… (mehr)

I really liked this book (mainly because it reminded me of my own animals but it also had good content) I think it could easily be used in a primary grade classroom because of the simplicity of the sentence structures. I think its first grade standards (I could be wrong) that talk specifically about animal structures and how the animal specific structures aid in their survival and this I think would be a good book to use to introduce external structures because of the unique survival techniques that salamanders and geckos have! This book could also be used to talk about habitats and needs for survival.… (mehr)

"Baby Kangaroos (Super Cute!" by Megan Borgert-Spaniol is a book aimed at K-2 students and is an informational picture book that tells all about a joey's life with its mom. The book begins with a table of contents and ends with a glossary of terms and an index. Throughout the book these terms are written in bold text to show that they are vocabulary words. Additionally, throughout the book there are headings for different sections of the text: Care From Mom, Mob Life, etc. This book would be a great way to introduce and discuss the text features of a scientific informational text and become more familiar with them. This author has lots of other informational texts about animals at varying levels. I think they would be a great resource to have students do research and write reports about an animal of their choice; and/or, to use as a whole class reading where you model writing about one animal and they get to choose which details from the text they want to include.… (mehr)
