Bradshaw set up and developed possibly the first school specifically for kids with AS, and went on to open more schools across the UK, including provisions for sixth formers. It's not the most amazingly written book I've ever read, but it's a really interesting look at what worked and what didn't, and how much a whole-school approach to education, care and understanding can help young Aspies struggling with anxiety, self-confidence and social interaction. The testimonials from former students and their parents at the end are a nice touch, offering an insider's perspective on Asperger's life as well as an honest look at how the schools worked (or not) for the people they were built for.… (mehr)
