William Brandt (1) (1961–)

I feel robbed that I hadn't heard of this book earlier. It was entertaining and worth a few laughs out loud. Brandt creates a number of characters that you want to hate, maybe you do hate and then you end up loving later.

The last twenty pages or so didn't sparkle as much as the rest of the book, dropping it from what would have been a 4 1/2 star (very nearly a 5) to a 4.

Promoted as Pretty Woman meets Nick Hornby, and it is in a way. I thought it derailed at the end a bit like High Fidelity did, but it was overall enjoyable and quite funny at times.
