Kurzbiographie
Peter Brent came to Britain on a kindertransport shortly before the Second World War. His parents died in the Holocaust.

Determined to write from his earliest years, Peter Brent took a number of jobs—porter, teacher, film extra, journalist—before producing his first novel "Exit" at the age of 28. A number of novels, plays and biographies followed; these included a biography of Enzo Sereni and another of T. E. Lawrence. He also wrote thrillers under the name of Ludovic Peters.

After extensive travel in India, Peter Brent wrote "Godmen of India", a study of gurus.Widely acclaimed, too, was his biography of Charles Darwin, published in 1981. At the time of his death, Mr. Brent was working on a study of Indian medicine and was hoping to write a life of "Darwin's Bulldog", Thomas Huxley. [Association of Jewish Refugees obituary]
