Kurzbiographie
Lyle Vander Broek has served both as pastor of a rural church and as minister of outreach in a struggling urban congregation. Since 1983, he has taught courses in the Greek language and in biblical exegesis at Dubuque Seminary, and has continued to pursue his special interest in the Gospel of Mark and I Corinthians. In 1992, he co-authored the book Literary Forms in the New Testament. Current research has focused on the nature of Christian community, especially what Paul says in I Corinthians about the barriers to community and how they can be overcome.

In addition to his exegetical teaching, Dr. Vander Broek has taught courses in biblical preparation for preaching, as well as a course on small-town and rural ministry. He has led a number of groups of UDTS students to the Holy Land on study trips.

Lyle Vander Broek is a minister of the Reformed Church in America and serves on the Ministerial Formation Certification Committee, a national committee that evaluates RCA seminary students who attend non-RCA seminaries.
