The Dragon, The Damsel, and the Knight von Bob Brown
Cute story, with the now-standard twist that the dragon is friendly (up to a point). The Constable was more interesting. However, it really needed a couple more proofreading passes - the punctuation was bad enough that I frequently had to stop and re-read a line to figure out what the author had meant to say. Few other errors, it was basically the punctuation.

It's a mixed bag. A few of the stories are okay, and one or two are memorable. Mostly, I have sympathy for the views, but believe they've been better expressed. It isn't really science fiction so much as essays, cloaked in the guise of fiction. I spent the eleven bucks on it, and I don't mind that I did, but if you're strapped for cash, just get the kindle version.
I'm about to donate it to the local used book store. I will never, ever finish it. I've been casting about for a good description of it, and finally realized that it's rather like reading a joke book (I haven't seen one in years, but I read a few as a kid). Sometimes one will make you laugh, but it becomes wearisome, very quickly, and reading becomes a chore. Life's too short for that.… (mehr)
