John A. Burrison

A good book to start with if you're interested in the regional folklife but don't know a whole lot about it. For those who already have some knowledge about the subject, however, it provides little more than a brief, general introduction. Doesn't cover any individual topics in great historical or detailed depth, with the possible exception of the chapter on pottery traditions, though it does discuss Georgia (Burrison's long-time state of residence and study) more than any other subregion.
