The London Spymaker: A Riveting WW2 Historical Saga of Espionage, Love & Betrayal. Based on a real story. (A Resistance Girl Novel Book 7) by Hannah Byron
This story starts out with Ansel and she's the oldest girl in the family. Her mother, father and twin girls made up the whole family. They are Jewish but able to stay safe for a while but need to get to a safer location.
They have bare necessities and end up in the field between Germany and Poland. The nuns help them survive. No food, very cold and there is much death. They finally get a way out, by flying to England to her mothers brother that lives there. He is quite wealthy and takes them in. He has plans for Ansel. First they all get new names. Her father opens a book shop, and her uncle trades in diamonds with many nearby countries.
She ends up spending time with the pilot that brought them there but she's only 16. She was able to be sent to the finishing school in Switzerland where she meets and befriends Pearlie. They form a lifelong bond.
She gets a job where she interviews women who want to help fight the war in France. They are trained and she notes where they'd be the best asset in the campaign.
She is in the bunkers under the city but she is also considering marrying the well to do man but she fears he's too much of a playboy for her. He has her life in his hands when he tells her of his plans She devotes her time to the SOE and even after interrogating others during the war crime trials to find out more information about the agents she sent off the fight in France. Anna learns what happened to them all. The war does end along with all the threats made to her life. She has important papers that allow her to travel where she needs to go. Just one last mission for her...
Never saw it ending as such, very powerful, emotional, lots of travel, love lullaby’s translated into English, entertaining learning about the struggles, hardships, tragedies and death and how they survived and why.
This book by the author is the best out of the whole series, so detailed descriptions, something just connected with me in this read to keep it one of my top 5 books this year.
A KEEPER!

Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer! Oćeane is a budding physician but as exams and school starts winding down, she is questioning her education and career. Does she really want to be a physician or is she doing this for her parents? Needing to find herself, Oćeane heads across the ocean to enroll in the medical school in Paris and reconnect with her grandfather again. But the world has other plans when WWII breaks out and soon Oćeane is thrown hands on into what it means to be a heart doctor and that there are no sides in medicine. Doing her best to care for all that come through and throwing herself into her work has also helped her to forget about the nightmare of her boyfriend having been taken by the Nazi. So when an opportunity arises to get inside with the enemy, Oćeane doesn't think twice about it and also finds not all are enemies and are only doing what they can to stay alive. Taken to be a personal physician of the terrible Von Stein, Oćeane knows this is the only way to obtain information and get to the bottom of where Jean-Jacques could be, that is, if he is still alive. But Von Stein is nonfool to who Oćeane really is and the game of war becomes all too real. I really loved all the characters involved in this story and now I need to go back and read about Oćeane's parents! Thank you to the author for the free novel, I am really enjoying these resistance stories. This review is of my own opinion and accord.… (mehr)

This had a very interesting storyline, a mother who was torn in her alliance and a father who was high in the government and did not have much of a choice for alliance if he wanted to live. Edda is torn between her love of dance, the one she has fallen for and her family. Her dance has never really been looked at as a career and after a tragic injury sidelines her most favorite thing in life, she needs to find something else to keep her occupied and positive. Meanwhile war is breaking out across Europe and Edda struggles with what is happening within her own family. The only one who seems to be able to keep things stable, Edda has a lot on her shoulders and once she recovers, she is determined to get back into dance but the war has other decisions. As the Nazi's come into Holland, Edda has some hard decisions to bare as her family splits apart in alliance and some in death, her love interest has been taken and with dance no longer an option she joins the resistance with the help of her neighbor and puts her life on the line until one day that line is crossed and she now finds herself behind camp walls. Is it worth using her last name and father's power to be released and what of those she has lost, would that all be in vain? I really enjoyed Edda's story and loved the notes after the book to indicate true and fiction throughout the novel. I look forward to reading others in this series. Thank you to the author for the free novel. This review is of my own opinion and accord.… (mehr)

The Crystal Butterfly by Hannah Byron
This story starts out with Edda and she is studying at a ballet school. When the Russian ballet dancer joins the troop events occur that caused a medical emergency for Edda. She has to recuperate at home with her family. She is bored so bored that she persuades her mother to go to Switzerland to the finishing school where she had gone. She eats, drinks and sleeps ballet dancing.
As the war comes to the area things do change. As you discover how and who takes in the Jews to help save them or pass them from house-to-house to safety.
There are many things I really love about this book one is the information about the history another is Ballet. Mix those together with a bit of romance and the war and you have got a story for everyone to enjoy. Super love Ash and his family business.
Such emotion tragedies fear, travel, fashion, the ballet, relationships, struggles, strategy to overcome death. Really appreciate the ending and the epilogs because the author tells you what she changed with the time frame and links to find out more about other subjects that took a small part in this book.
