Animals say unexpected sounds while the child narrator makes puns about their mistakes.
This would make for a fun read-aloud, as children will no doubt laugh about the wrong animals saying meow, moo, etc.
The child narrator is Black, which is nice to see.
The book is very slim, so it wouldn't hurt to have some other short picture books on hand when reading this one aloud with little ones; perhaps an adult can first read a book when the animals make the expected sounds and then this one after to mix things up.… (mehr)
