Summary:

In this story, a new baby brother wakes his sister in the middle of the night. Like a good older sister she went and took care of her baby brother by holding him, kissing him, and playing with him. Eventually the mother comes to the room with a bottle and rocks the baby to sleep, but the sister stays in the room until he's in his crib asleep and she leaves the room and turns out the light.

Personal Response:

I loved this book. It's such a sweet, caring story. This would be a good book for children who are expecting a new baby in the family. This would also show kids how to help out their parents when they have a younger sibling.

Classroom Extension:

1. For one activity we could all sit in a circle and talk about our siblings and if they ever have trouble sleeping or wake up in the middle of the night and what we could do if that happens.
2. Another activity we could do is draw our siblings and write about them.
