William Casement

This is one of the best books that I have read on higher education. Casement analyzes the following aspects of higher education and goes against the grain of accepted practice: college cost, college rankings, affirmative action, scholarships, big-time sports, dual enrollment and Advanced Placement, general education, and liberal learning. Chapter 7 titled "Quadruple Whammy on the Curriculum" should be required reading for everyone who is responsible for general education, but his analysis can apply just as well to curriculum design in other areas.… (mehr)
