This one is a bit on the chewy side, mostly because you have to know and keep track of a list of people and organizations that mattered a lot but not so much anymore. Interesting as history of religious groups and politicians confronting and exploiting each other, and a good reminder to those of us in "mainline Protestantism" who'd like to sneer at conservative Christians that our political hands aren't so clean either.
