Stacy Claflin quickly and easily pulled me into the pages of No Way Out, the sixth book in her Ariana Jones series. Ariana and Damon have decided to relax and enjoy a short camping trip, but it does not take long before the vacation goes horribly wrong. They learn from another camper that one of the men hanging around the campground claims to live in the woods and calls himself a wanderer. Soon afterwards, one of the campers disappears and the rest of the group sets out to find her.

Ms. Claflin is able to instill their fear in her readers. Can anyone at the campground really be trusted….after all, the only people any single camper really knows are the ones they came with.

I do not like graphic violence, and the author is able to get her message across without the need to describe the intimate details. She does, however, give us helpful details where we want and need them. We see the forest and get to know the campers.

This book had me quickly turning pages. And just as I thought I had everything figured out, Ms. Claflin proved me wrong.

If you enjoy a good thriller, take a deep breath, pick up a copy of this book and read it now. Although No Way Out is part of a series, you do not need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one.… (mehr)

Grave Memories is a chilling addition to Stacy Claflin’s Brannon House series. The family ancestral home has been only partially renovated and there are still many secrets that the house has not yet revealed. Just what might be found in the hidden rooms and passageways that have yet to be discovered?

The family descendants who reside there are trying to break away from the past history and live normal lives. But this is difficult when old toys keep appearing in different locations and strange sounds can be heard coming from within the walls.

Be sure to check that all your doors and windows are locked before you snuggle into your favorite reading spot because you will be fighting the urge to get up and go check that everything is secure.

The characters are well developed and there are elements that will send chills up your spine as well as moments where you get a brief respite to catch your breath. If you like psychological thrillers, then this one is sure to keep your attention.

Stacy Claflin once again has proven she knows how to draw her readers into her page-turning stories. Some may remember the days when cults were frequently in the news and the horror stories surrounding them. This book reminds me of that era as the author takes the reader into the life of a young woman, Bella, who is trying to escape her nightmare of a life.

Bella is lucky that she has a sister who has already broken away from the cult and she turns to her for help. But the cult is relentless in the pursuit to find Bella and bring her home to wed the man her family has chosen as her husband.

There are happy moments when Bella sees the promise of life on the outside. It is fun to see her excitement about a Halloween party…an event that could never happen in the cult. But it is terrifying to see the dark side as she, and those helping her, are targeted in the cult’s effort to bring her back.

The characters are well developed. I grew to love those fighting to keep Bella safe and dislike her family and chosen suitor who were determined to keep that from happening. This is a hard book to put down as there is always something drawing you to turn to the next page. The end clearly leads you to expect there will be another book coming in the series and the author confirms this in her notes at the end. As for me, I’ll be waiting!
