Lily, Unleashed by Douglas Cobb is the first novel of his series, The Case Files of Lily and PAWS. There are currently two other books in the series, Lily and PAWS: The Ghosts of Summer and Douglas's most recent novel, Lily Solves Them All.

Who is Lily E. Quince, and what is Lily, Unleashed about? Though the paperback is 112 pages long, it contains over 64,000 words. Lily looks, to all intents and purposes to the eyes of most humans, like a black-and-white brindle terrier. She is, in fact, realy a pterodactyl, who uses her mind control powers to cloud her true appearance. Lily is the leader of PAWS PRIVATE Army of Warrior Sleuths), a crime-fighting organization that fights EVIL in all of its various shapes and forms.

In Lily, Unleashed, Lily, her "owner," thirteen-year-old Celeste, and the other members of PAWS have many exciting and humorous adventures fighting crime, especially against their arch nemesses, the Scarlet SNURFLES (led by the Scarlet Macaw, Frankie Sinister), and the Scarlet Mafia (headed by the Scarlet Macaw, Benny the Beak).

PAWS has three other members besides Lily. There's the Chinese Crested/rhino, Fuzzy Wally MacGee; the Great Dane/orangutan, Lucy Marmoset Higgins; and the Miniature Dachsund/Mountain Lion, Prince Alphonse Saed. They each have their own special talents, and each adds to the humor and enjoyment of the novel and the series.
