Starting over, somewhere new, someone new. The way this book kept me wanting to know what happens in the end. Not so much of a mystery but it keeps you wondering if it was worth it.
This book revolves around a girl who goes through a long-term teenage breakup and wants to leave her hometown with her mother to move and stay with her dad in Jersey Island to try and get a refreshed start. The Conflict of this story is about a girl named Cassidy dealing with a very tough breakup and leaving to try and get away and start new.
This book shows what leaving a hard time and trying to better yourself can do for you. It shows what good things can come out of it and the tough times, like trying to make new friends, being alone, missing your family and friends back home, and just trying to fit in with a different environment. It shows that with every decision made, there can be many obstacles that will make you want to turn around and go back to where you started.
This book can be very relatable for people reading that may have gone through a breakup, and or trying to get a new start by moving. The main character and other characters give a good view of teenage life, for example, it even gives a time when the main character Cassidy went to a party and she and her friends almost got busted. Not every teenager can relate to every part of the book but there are many different scenarios that I feel someone could relate to.
The theme of the book is overcoming adversity. The novel explores how personal growth and resilience can lead to healing and new beginnings. I know this is the central theme because the whole story revolves around finding new beginnings and healing from the past.
I do not recommend this book because to me it was not very interesting nor had very many details. But even though it wasn't a very interesting book it did have many relatable situations like going through a breakup, that many teenagers could relate to and maybe keep them more interested than I was. So If you are looking for a relatable book to read from a teenager's point of view I would recommend this book to you.… (mehr)

Nice alternating viewpoint story of the girlfriend and best friend of a teen who fell to his death one night while drinking at a team party in a park. Jake not only feels guilt and devastation after the accident, but has to fight suppressed feelings for Sarah, his late best friend's girlfriend.
Sarah is stuck in her own grief and sneaking attraction to Jake. Complicating the slow dance of attraction between them is her fears that her best friend Ash, sister of her dead boyfriend Alex, will freak completely if she and Jake become an item. As you read along, you're given a full view of everyone's dynamics, complete with Ash's boyfriend drama and return to her abandoned passion, you meet the casual hook-up of Jake's, who can't resist stirring the emotional pot every so often, but most interesting is the dialogue between the late Alex and Jake regarding Sarah. This runs through much of the story.
This is a well done look at how love and hope persevere when loss and grief stand in the way.… (mehr)
