In all fairness, I should probably not even rate self-help books of this type. I never buy them but have received several as gifts. My difficulty with them, in general is that almost everyone I have read repeats itself endlessly, only rephrasing the same concepts over and over and over. This book is no exception. Chapter 1: Strive to live in the moment. Chapter 2: Work to build your own self-esteem. Chapter 3: Choose to be cheerful.. Chapter 4:Be assertive. And so it goes. Establish a them, then re-state the premise in two dozen different ways to the point of extreme tedium. The book takes the reader through the trials of raising a family, taking care of older family members and their own aging process. It is larded with lots and lots of really good quotations. If you have a taste for this type of book, it might be just your thing.… (mehr)
