In the Twinkling of an Eye: More Accidents and… von William Cross
The 8th booklet from William Cross, FSA Scot on Accidents and Disasters in Scotland in the 19th and 20th Centuries. This edition covers 20 incidents with close on the names of 650 victims listed. No single accident is the centre piece for the compilation but a number of neglected incidents from the 19th Century include The Winchburgh Railway accident of 1862 and the Kirtlebridge accident from 1872. The booklet covers the Empire Theatre fire in Ebinburgh from 1911, the K13 submarine disaster of 1917. the Iolaire disaster of 1919 and the Castlecary Railway disaster from 1937.

The booklet provides a narrative on each event as well as listing any survivors.… (mehr)
