- Herb Curtis (born 1949) is a Canadian novelist and humourist who writes about and has long lived in New Brunswick. His novel The Last Tasmanian won the 1992 Thomas Head Raddall Award. He grew up near Blackville, New Brunswick, and currently resides in Fredericton, New Brunswick and is working on the script for a television movie based on his novels.

The Americans Are Coming (GLE Library) von Herb Curtis
This summer I headed out on my first fly fishing expedition with my two brothers and my Dad. A friend of mine recommended I read this book in preparation for my trip. It is a lovely little story about fly fishing on the Miramichi. It follows the lives of two teenage boys struggling through growing up on this infamous river. It was a really nice read. Although life on the Miramichi can be dreary this book was much lighter than any David Adams Richards' books on the same topic.
