The book Bicycle Metals describes what metals are and how they are used. Metals are solid and most solids do not bend. Some metals can bend. Very hot metal can turn into liquid. There is a short story in the book called Josefa Can Do It. This helps the reader understand how to use metal to solve a problem. I give this book four out of five stars because Ellen B. Culter does a good job of providing students with vocabulary of aluminum, liquid, metal, mixture, and solid. There is a short story that connects well with some of the vocabulary. I would use this book for a lesson that helps students recognize details. You can also use this book before a science experiment on metals vs nonmetals.… (mehr)
