A very well-researched book describing the events leading up to the annexation of the erstwhile independent kingdom of Sikkim by India.
While the book is well-researched, the book does not offer any Indian points of view toward the annexation. The government of India is painted as the devil and the Chogyal as the nice-guy who always finishes last. Maybe the author's friendship with the Chogyal had something to do with that but some more light on the views of the Govt. of India with regard to Sikkim and the prevailing strategic discourse in the Indian security establishment would have helped.

The book also needs to be balanced out - the main characters are either all black or all white, while reality, especially in an Indian setting is that the truth and all characters are grey.… (mehr)
