Madame Royale is the title the eldest daughter of Louis and Marie Antoinette, Marie Therese Charlotte, got when she was born. The author claims she possesses the diary of Madame Royale, written when she was still a prisoner after the execution of her parents and in her life after that. The princess was released by her uncle, the emperor f Austria, but chose to live in the shadows, continuesly running from people who might recognise her and maybe kill her.

Fascinating books. Even if it's all fabricated, it still gives an idea of France during the times of Louis and Marie Antoinette, during the revolution, the people behind the revolution, life in France and surrounding countries. The time during and after Napoleon is mentioned as well.
