Kurzbiographie
Fred Dennis was a preacher for the churches of Christ in southern Ohio and West Virginia, holding gospel meetings from his home base in Marietta, Ohio.

He served on the staff of the old Christian Leader published in Cincinnati, Ohio, by F. L. Rowe, later he was on the staff of the Gospel Advocate and also of the Bible Herald.

He obeyed the gospel in 1909 and preached his first sermon in 1917. Following graduation from the Eighth Grade, Dennis passed a test that permitted him to teach school for eleven years in Washington County, OH. His study habits were exceptionally diligent, and committing himself to daily serious study of the Scriptures, he left teaching school for a lifetime commitment to preaching the gospel. Though he preached some in Indiana, Michigan, Washington D.C. and in a two or three southern states, his preaching of some seventy-two years rarely saw him more than 150 miles from his beloved home in Marietta, OH. In later years (perhaps through most of his preaching years) Fred Dennis was known for his "bed-sheet sermons". Often, he would use one chart for two or more sermons in a gospel meeting. He was an well known contributor to numerous church of Christ publications and published five books of sermons over the course of his life.
