Michael Donovan

This is the first novel by this author as far as I'm aware and a very good one it is too.

It does start off a bit "hard-bitten gumshoe" style, but that doesn't continue. It makes a change that the PI isn't some no-hoper who can't get or keep a woman and frequently gets beat up in the course of events. Eddie Flynn manages to stay one step ahead most of the time and manages to get in a few moves of his own. I also liked the wry humour in the way he expresses himself, although he does seem to make an awful lot of coffee.

There was poor proof-reading in the version that I read and it began to bug me after a while, otherwise this would have been a 5 star review.

But, I really enjoyed reading about Eddie Flynn and hope there's more to follow, as I would certainly give it a try. The plot twists and turns certainly kept me guessing to the end.… (mehr)
