This was a good creepy book!

When Uncle Geoffrey dies in a car accident, his nephew Jordan is very distraught. Jordan decides to get away and go stay in his uncle's cabin in the woods. Jordan invites his girlfriend, Meryl to go with him so they can be by themselves and get away from reality for awhile.

The only way to and from the cabin is by plane which Jordan's friend, Dan is more than willing to take them on their little journey. As Jordan and Meryl settle into the cabin, Meryl starts seeing doors open and close on their own. Cold drafts, creaks and moans accompany all the paranormal activity in the cabin, but at first only Meryl is the one seeing it. Till eventually something happens and Jordan comes around to believing about the spooks too. Meryl finds out that something tragic happened in the cabin long time ago and she investigates the mystery amid the spooky paranormal activity to find out why the cabin is haunted.

This was a creepy atmospheric haunting and it kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. Giving this one three stars.… (mehr)

Non stop supernatural excitement!

Yikes! I just discovered this series. Two chapters into book one and I IMMEDIATELY bought the entire series!!! Keira is a typical young twenty three year old. She keeps flitting from job to job unsure of what her passion might be. When she's kicked out of her acting school she gets the first shock of her life when her parents cancel her lease, but her off ave surprise!! They send her off to live with her maternal grandmother...that she never knew existed! Upon meeting her she learns of their gifts and her destiny. It seems she can see ghosts and other things. She and her grandmother are destined to help cross over list souls through The Veil. Trying to keep the world safe, and also getting rid of evil. Suffice to say lots of craziness happens along the way. Keira might be extremely powerful but she's also new to all this. On the job learning can sometimes be hazardous...but she's determined to help. Who can she trust? This entire series is full of twists and turns excitement and a few secrets along the way. In for I've hope she becomes every bit of what she's destined to become!… (mehr)

The “Ghost Story Junkie” loves a good haunted house tale… and this is a really great one. It’s based on what is believed to be a true story. How much truth there is in that will totally depend on the views of the reader. Many people are said to have seen the ghost, or at least his effects in the house. Real or not …Liam…the ghost… disrupts the whole family and gives the reader enough chills to last a lifetime. I really liked how the author set the story in motion with lots of twists & turns with the goal to be how to deal with the spirit. It does seem that Liam is not especially dangerous…just mischievous… perhaps lonely and not really liking his “dead state”. I don’t think I would want Liam occupying my house but then these people were occupying his. This is the first book I've read of this author but it defiantly won't be the last.… (mehr)

"Crawley House" by Michelle Dorey, was not what I expected. But in this case, it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Expecting the usual run-of-the-mill new owners/ghost formula, I was treated to an in-depth and very compelling story of the first owners of the house, the very ones who become the ghosts and populate the second half of the book. I really enjoyed this perspective and thought it was a very unique and enjoyable way of telling this wonderful and creepy little tale.

The author's writing was very good and the book is flawless. I would highly recommend this if you enjoy a gentler ghost story with plenty of atmosphere and background. I know I, for one, am looking forward to more from this author.
