Allard is a huntress, defending her home from the wolves that steal sheep. She's also half-...something, although she isn't quite sure what; her cousin, Flann, accuses her of being half-demon. But Allard receives the answers of her past when a mysterious visitor, Fisher, appears at the keep one night - with his eyes set on Allard's sister, Fiona.

I normally don't like short stories, but I did enjoy this one. Though a very quick read, I liked the character of Allard. This isn't really a lesbian romance, although it is sold by Bella Books, but it is hinted that Allard is more like a son than a daughter and she doesn't wish to get married.

Recommended to those who want a short fantasy read.… (mehr)

Very short, but entertaining, lesbian mystery. But you'd best be prepared to suspend disbelief more than once. Unless, of course, you believe that a woman who is a paying guest at a Bed & Breakfast would be willing to take over the desk for days on end, and clean other guests' rooms and toilets, etc.

And then, of course, there's the fact that the owner of the B&B somehow manages to serve a hearty breakfast at 8 each morning, even though she has no cook and no waitpeople, and she tends to like sleeping in until noon.....

Hmmm.... Nah, I can't quite find myself buying it.

Still, though, I've suspended disbelief on bigger fish stories than this. The characters were, at least, entertaining. Not terribly smart, but entertaining nontheless.

So, a mixed review from me. Fun, short, but pretty far fetched.… (mehr)
