Juniper seeks to find her own path in life, but her activist parents have other plans. When her father takes her to clean up an oil spill, the pair make a discovery that will change the world.

I loved, loved, loved Juniper’s character. Her American-Indian beauty, in addition to her level of maturity and sarcastic sense of humour had me hooked. She’s definitely the kind of person I would befriend in real life. Her passion and determination make her a force to be reckoned with, presenting her as a strong female role model.

Juniper’s comedic style helped to lighten tense moments, of which there were plenty. She has a profound effect on other characters and their way of thinking that I admire. As for her best friend Hayley, I found myself shying away from her. Although she appears sweet at first, she seems like the sort of girl that will do anything to get a leg up on the rung of the popularity ladder. There were several times when I wanted to slap some sense into Hayley’s character as she aggravated me that much.

I did love how the plot developed. The writing had a steady pace that held my attention and the drama with the leaked secrets had me on the edge of my seat, making me wonder what the outcome of everything would be.

Did I have any dislikes with this story? Well, besides from Hayley’s character and her back-stabbing, I didn’t like the way that Juniper’s parents tried to force their views and careers on her. Their refusal to listen to her opinions on the matter was a situation that I could relate to.

I’d rate this as 5 stars and would recommend it to avid readers of urban fantasy, as well as to those who are passionate about the environment and its preservation.

Cry of the Sea is a moving tale of passion, beliefs, and incredible discoveries.

I read this book via an Amazon KINDLE Unlimited download.

According to the song, The Second Time Around by Frank Sinatra, love is lovelier the second time around:

Love is lovelier, the second time around
Just as wonderful, with both feet on the ground
It's that second time you hear your love song sung
Makes you think perhaps that love, like youth, is wasted on the young

Loves more comfortable the second time you fall
Like a friendly home the second time you call
Who can say, what brought us to this miracle we’ve found

There are those who’d bet
Love comes but once - and yet
I'm oh so glad we met
The second time around

The only reason I’m bringing this song up is that I believe it epitomizes the essence of each of the seven short stories contained in this collection. Each story’s protagonist has a different reason for the failure of their first romance each romance, each protagonist’s romantic existence gets further complicated since they’re all a single parent, as they endeavor to find a new love the second time around in their lives.

Each of these seven stories is well-written and delivers a lot to its readers within the average of about 32 pages each story contains, and not a single disappointment in the lot. For giving their readers these delightful stories which are best read one at a time, I’m happy to give this book and its seven authors 5 STARS.

I enjoyed this trilogy and this book was a great wrap-up to the story of Juniper, Carter, Haley and Juniper's parents. We started with mermaids, then a tree alive with a spirit and wrapped it up with a stone person/monster and mers (men and women). When Juniper's boyfriend Carter goes missing, I wanted to email the author and go to the end of the book to see if he lives. There is a lot of action in here as Juniper tries to find Carter even though everyone else thinks he is dead. It's also about wrapping up the story about the three men and what happened to them. Is it a myth or did it really happen. This ending to the trilogy does a great job of wrapping everything up and bringing things to a completion. Ms. Driver does a great job of bringing the characters to life with humor along with drama. She made me not want to put the book down and I will miss Juniper and her family and friends. Definitely pick this trilogy up if you want to be entertained.

I want to thank the author for allowing me to take this journey.

Very enjoyable Novella for young adults. Who doesn't enjoy the first love or crush of a young boy. A little bit of paranormal activity. Light-hearted enjoyable read. The author does a great job of giving you a little bit of the characters' lives without making you feel like something is missing.

I thank the author for a free copy of her book for an honest review.
