I live in beautiful Tübingen in the south of Germany with my husband and our youngest child, her two older siblings popping in to visit now and then, - and I draw, I paint and I write whenever - and wherever - I can.

I have a degree in Art Therapy and Special Education and a lot of experience with children, both professionally and with my own, which has shaped the way I paint, and the stories I tell.

My books have been published in Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Romania, the UK, Australia, Canada and the US. I love illustrating picture books and chapter books. My favourite technique is watercolor, which I like to complement with gouache and coloured pecils, aiming to develop a particular visual language for each project.

Tras la increíble experiencia de aprender a plantar tomates con el abuelo, Mila recibe una noticia maravillosa: pasará un fin de semana entero con él, porque sus padres se van de viaje.

Juntos, cocinan unos espaguetis...

(mehr)

Paula’s mother is missing and her father is deeply grieving. He is too sad to get out of bed or do anything with Paula. Paula decides she is going to try and cheer him up. Paula does her best to make her dad things and paint what they would be doing if her mom was there.

Another book I read in-store and promptly bought. A young boy pretends he is a knight with his sword and hat, but has a nightmare, and his grandmother gives him a stuff lion to help him be a knight and face his fear. The story is relatable, and encourages children to overcome their fears in a cute way. This book provides a reason of sorts, for children taking a teddy bear to bed.

I like this book especially because imaginary lions are something I learned from my aunt and I used a trick similar to the book's to deal with being out at night or in scary places. I would rank it higher, but the art isn't quite what I would like to see. Still, it's cute, and the illustrations are fitting. It would make a good gift or bed time story for a child or parent.… (mehr)

The Night Lion is a lovely tale of of a boy and his stuffed lion that comes to life in his dreams, helping him overcome his fears. The boy’s narrative of the hero cycle takes him out of reality to a dangerous place in his dreams where he learns to stand tall against the robber in the night.
