A Butterfly's Life Cycle (Explore Life Cycles) von Mary R. Dunn
The Life Cycle of a Butterfly is a great pattern book for younger students as well as Multilingual Learners. This book demonstrates a pattern of life changes throughout a development of a butterfly. Some children are aware how a butterfly grows, but this book will allow children to make a deeper connection and think critically using patterns throughout the process. A science book such as The Life of a Butterfly would also be great to work with ELL’s using picture cues and patterns to read and understand text. Simple text and full-color photos explain the habitat, life cycle, range, and behavior of porcupines.
I think this book would be a good level for some kids I am student teaching. It has short sentences and not very many to a page. It also has a glossary in the back and gives more things students can do.
