- Eaves was a minister since 1952 and a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the Air Force. He was the Chaplain (LTC) of the Civil Air Patrol and the Cookeville District of the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Mr. Eaves was the Chaplain and Drug Education Officer for the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.
Mr. Eaves was a Mission Evangelist recently under the Elders of the Lenoir City Church of Christ, and he worked in the Philippine Islands and the countries of Canada, Pakistan, Russia, the Ukraine, Hungary and India. For many years he was involved in training young men to become gospel preachers.
He received his B.A. in Bible from Harding University,
his M.A. in Bible from Harding Graduate School of Bible and Religion, and a Ph.D. at Tennessee Bible College.
For four years he served as director of the Bible chair of the Church of Christ on the campus of Sam Houston University. From July 1974 to August 1980 he taught and served as dean in the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Missions in Knoxville, Tennessee. Currently he is on the faculty of Tennessee Bible College in Cookeville, Tennessee.
