I'm afraid I really couldn't read much of this. I won it through the GoodReads giveaway system because the idea piqued my interest. I'm very touched that the autographed it specially and was inclined to struggle on to try to be nice but I've barely been able to read a few pages. I'm not doing this book justice at all. I'll be on the lookout for a more appreciative reader to pass this on to. Hopefully someone else will make good use of it.

I found the book too monotonous, prayerful and rather boring. As though I were being forced to sit in church for hours - church taking over my bedroom! The format seems pretty same-y to me - psalm, similar prayer, page for own prayer, repeat. I'll know better than to try these books in future. I do pray myself but not to the extent of this...

Thank you anyway to the author. Please be aware that this reflects only my personal experience of the book. I don't want to deter others from reading it at all.

I have enjoyed this book again and again over the past 4 years that I have owned it. It's one of those books that you can read it again and get something else from it that didn't occur to you before. We really have not changed much over the past 2000 or so years. Our hearts and minds still long for answers and understanding of how God works in our lives. We don't really know how to pray in a way so that we can feel God, connect with God, and have a real relationship with Him. This book has given me insights in to those areas that were gray for me. I feel as if I have far more understanding of what the Psalmist may have been feeling as he turned to God for answers to the things that were troubling to him. We can cry out to God too. We can share our burdens and ask questions and be thankful for God is good.… (mehr)

A must have for your spiritual bookshelf. In this her second book, Lyndda continues to use her gifts she has been blessed with. She opens up the God inspired words from the Psalms and shows how they can be applied into your own prayer life. Giving meaning to passages written thousands of years ago and relating them to the life of the modern Christian. Even if you may not completely agree with all the words of the prayers, these prayers are still a perfect example to help guide you into using the same verses to open up a more meaningful conversation with God. A great book for devotions that can be used over and over again.… (mehr)
