This tale of a New York City aspirational-lifestyle couple gets good marks for atmospheric, claustrophobic scene-setting and scope-defining narrative. While I quibble with the rather magisterial pace the author sets, there are many precedents for his use of it. Are you a fan of [We Have Always Lived in the Castle]'s or [Let the Right One In]'s unsettling, eerie happenings? This book will scratch that same bump.
