Cute story of a newly engaged young couple and the baggage their respective families inadvertently bring to the mix. I enjoyed the ending with everyone coming together. I found it to be a light, easy read and enjoyed the different relationships and how they changed from the beginning to the end.

This is actually probably a three and a half star read, but I decided to bump it because I did enjoy the story. I found it interesting that the story alternated between the point of view of the widow and the mistress. I wasn't surprised by the twist and found myself somewhat unhappy with the resolution. I liked the widow and thought it was terrible to inflict so much pain with so little happiness in return. However, all in all, it was a good read.

Girls' Night Out A Novelby Liz Fenton; Lisa Steinke A beautiful, haunting story of friendship and what happens when that friendship is put to the test. A must-read for women of all ages!!! The author and Netgally should be proud of themselves for producing this work of fiction. This book made me love my best friend a little more after reading this because this because while this was a great thriller it made me sad for the friendships in these pages. You will feel like you are reading two stories that come together so well and you will want to know how these woman’s lives are alone and the secrets between them are intermixed. Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren have traveled all the way to Tulum, Mexico in hopes of rekindling their previous friendships. The book opens in present time. Natalie awakens the morning of their last day in Mexico. She panics when she realizes she’s not in her hotel bed. She’s not in any bed. She is outside the hotel, on the beach alone. Natalie’s memory is black in spots and she goes on a search for the other girls. She goes to Ashley’s room everything is there but Ashley……. She continues to Lauren’s room and they come to the conclusion that Ashley is gone. Did she go willingly, was she kidnapped?? What has happened and why is Lauren the only one unfazed? The book flips between all three women’s prospective. There were times that I wish the book slowed down a bit so I could keep the facts straight but once you get a feel for the set-up of the book then you will find that this book is a fun read. I will say that I expected a light read because of the title but what I got was an adventure with a little bit of mystery. A four-star read for me will be reading more from these ladies for sure.

Maybe it was just me but this book seemed to go on forever. I listened to it on audio and I'm a huge fan of a time loop or going back in time. One of my favorite tropes. It just seemed to go on forever for some reason. And I kept getting the girl's names mixed up. I knew each of their stories, that made sense, but then I had to think each time the author said one of their names who we were talking about. Overall, it was a good book and had an overall good message of, even if you change things, nothing's ever going to be perfect. I did feel for one of the characters who went back 10 years to relive her mom dying again. Good god...as much as it's good to have more time with someone, to have to relive the decline and the death doesn't sound like my idea of fun. Overall, it was enjoyable and I'll probably remember this book for awhile. Maybe if it was truncated a bit, I would've given it four stars.… (mehr)
