Erm, okay? I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited purely on the basis of the title - I'm an archive assistant - but to start with, the characters are curators rather than archivists, and also where was the mystery? I had my fingers crossed that the insufferable BS - great name - would be the victim, but he couldn't even manage a heart attack. This is more a 'day in the life' of the staff at a National Trust house, based on Blenheim Palace apparently, from the curators to the guides, with a bit of unpleasantness thrown in. Also, I expected the author to be male - BS is a creepy, incompetent thief, yet Sam, the freelance curator, considers him to be a charming old rogue. Overall, I liked how believable if not sympathetic the characters were, but ew no, let's not pity the lecherous bully with sticky fingers, shall we?… (mehr)
