André Fildier

This is a 'scrapbook' celebrating the life of one of France's greatest loved actor/comedian/singers, and was published as a dual text edition in French/English so would have appealed to tourists wanting to bring home a souvenir of France as well as home grown fans.

Each page contains a full page still or reproduction poster advertising one of Fernandel's many films followed by a short footnote; there is also a concise chronology of his work from birth to death.

Although this is a nice quality item, the posters especially would have greatly benefited from partial colour even though most of the actual photographs would still have been in b/w; and so I lost it half a star for that.

Still, no fan would feel disappointed to own this book I don't think.… (mehr)
