This book is amazing. Read it purely for an accurate idea of what life as a hunter in southern Africa was like before the Boer War. Selous experienced wonderful things. Today it is absolutely impossible for a human to live the life that Selous lived during the 11 years covered in this book. This fact makes this a fantastic read.
