My least favorite of the series. Rafe Mendoza (who we met in Last Breath) and his men are hired to retrieve damaging info for the US gov. who has also taken one of Mendoza's men for collateral. Staking out the criminal they see he has an innocent woman, Ava meeting buyers with the information for him. Ava is in over her head but she's going through with it to save her best friend Rose. Rafe feels an instant attraction for Ava but feels unworthy due to childhood and teenage trauma. He whisks her and the information off to safety which ends in a plane crash in the Amazon. The two fight to survive while the attraction between them heats up. It went downhill from there with too much talk the entire book about the size of his d!ck and it was disappointing that none of the other characters from the other books were mentioned or featured like the first three books.… (mehr)

Vasily has Naomi (Daniel's sister) with him in the aftermath of book #2 "Last Breath". He's trying to take over the Bratva and she's hacking and moving money. In disguise they have to infiltrate clubs and travel to find a stolen painting to bring back to the bratva. Complications arise as Naomi is either autistic or has Aspergers. She calls herself an "aspie" and the instances were written well. Vasily and she mesh as neither of them like to be touched and their relationship and quirks complement each other and grow. From assassins trying to kill them, Naomi's endless facts about everything, and Vasily's cold abused heart thawing.… (mehr)

Daniel owes Nick a favor so he is looking for Regan in all of the brothels to see where she was taken. He's also looking for his sister Naomi who was taken eighteen months before. From Russia to Rio he's sickened by the human trafficking and desperate to find both women. He's also in debt to Vasily and is looking for a hacker for him. Finally finding Regan and getting her out of the clutches of very sick men, Daniel finds one of his special forces team mates (Mendoza) who helps him administer justice. Regan is damaged from being trafficked and Daniel has all sorts of thoughts he shouldn't. The two of them form an uneasy alliance that turns into more as they are on the run from ruthless killers and trying to find a hacker and Naomi. Edge of your seat thriller.… (mehr)

Unbeknownst to Daisy, there's a man across the street that's watching her. Nick is a bratva assassin since he was 9 who's left the fold but still killing and needing revenge . He sees a light in Daisy that he wants more of. A timid friendship starts that turns into something more. All of the lies told and men coming after him darken the doorstep and Daisy and Regan are in the crosshairs of powerful the bratva that puts Nick in a position of a new found lust for life and a longing for Daisy that he will stop at nothing to get her back. A suck you in story that's murder, mayhem, love, emotional distress, tense and sometimes awkward with Nick's Russian phrases versus American slang and Daisy's fresh outlook.
