Let me begin this review by referring to the word "abiding." We must know that the word abiding means long-lasting or enduring, and being Christians, it has to apply to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And this is the author's intended purpose for having compiled this book.
Looking at abiding, let's begin by reading JOHN 17:23 [NKJV]:
"I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."
So how much does the Lord love us? Well, luckily, JOHN gives us the answer in verse, 3:17 [NKJV]:
"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."
And JOHN 16:27 [NKJV] aptly reminds us that:
"For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God."
Love is a definitive two-way street where our Lord has always shown the love He has for us, so in return, have we abided by our love for Him? I found this book to be a useful tool in gaining knowledge regarding the Lord's extent and amount of love for each of us. And given this love, shouldn't we be inviting Him into our lives with open hearts.
Having a loving relationship with the Lord brings to me mind the chorus of Merle Haggard's song In the Garden:
And he walks with me, and he talks with me
And he tells me I am his own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known
For wanting her readers to acquire a loving relationship with the Lord, I've given Ms. Freeman 5 STARS for endeavor here.… (mehr)
