Talk about addictive!

LOVED this book. Cannot wait for book two to be released. Willow was raised on the run with her parents. She never knew why, just followed their lead. Until the day someone tried to kill her on the bus. Upon getting home she learned her parents had left her. She was all alone and had no clue what was going on. That soon changed when Liam (hot guy on the bus who tried to kill her and then let her go) explained she was supposedly alien and meant to become the ruler of the others also here. Not only that, but prophecy claims she will be the death of everyone. Of course she thinks he's insane... That is until she sees some unexplainable stuff. Willow woke that morning having two parents, and yes an unconventional life... But in the course of one afternoon she was now alone and apparently an alien princess that many think will kill their people?!?! What the heck?! Soon Liam and Willow will be literally tied together and running from those desperate to kill her. Who will prevail? What does Willow discover along the way? Oh so manynthings to come.... This is so much fun to read, and for me a new take on any paranormal type books. I will definitely be reading more by this amazing author. Treat yourself and have a read. This story is also in the MARKED BY FATE Anthology.… (mehr)

I received a digital copy of this book from Quality Book Works in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. All are my opinions and not compensated by any individual, organization, or company. Might include minor spoilers.

Waken is a werewolf story about family abandonment, freedom, dreams, power and love. Written in× Janie’s point of view, it tells how× Janie’s decision to change into being friendly and make friends could lead to her possible death, her being the cure, her being the saviour, and her being ‘the Wolf’.

Consumed by nightmares of the mother who tried to kill her, her stepbrother persuaded her to chill out and make friends. She met× Tristan, the guy she can’t resist having uneasy feeling with. When they dated, not only was she got exposed in the dark secret of lycan community but also introduced to the father who left her. Things just got more complicated for our little shy× Janie when they told her she is the promised one that will set them free from the curse blood of lycanthrope but not all wants freedom including Helena—her mother.

The writing is very impressive. I liked how the scenarios are described vividly. This was such an easy read. The characters are well-planned out and I loved how they serve their roles. I enjoyed the family twist, also. My best part is when× Kyle died. That was my climax of the story.

This, though, is a little predictive for me. Regardless of how likeable the characters are, the only parts that I highly enjoyed are when I did not see a twist coming. But the awesome vivid writing and the good pacing of the story are the all good reasons to keep reading. No matter how many times I predict how the story will go, it never fails to thrill me.

I recommended it to young adult readers out there who enjoy werewolf stories. It got suspense and mystery to chill your night out.

An enjoyable romantic novel for teens, with a fillip of suspense thrown in. I read the beginning, offered at Smashwords & Amazon, which drew me in. Had to buy it to read the rest (an ebook). Dani is a 17 year old teen with a rocky past, with an abusive father & alcoholic mother, and she was bounced around foster care. Finally in a stable foster family situation, Dani befriended Reece, who reminds her of the older brother she idolized who was killed by her father. As they age, Dani falls in love with handsome and popular Reece, but hides it to keep their friendship secure. The plot revolves around a love triangle, miscommunications, family dysfunction and growth, plus mysterious threatening phone calls that seem to relate back to Dani's foster care days. The suspense is pretty light and I would have liked a stronger sense of place, but the romantic elements and Dani's traumatic story held my attention and empathy.… (mehr)

Songbird is a very compelling book. Dani struggles with the death of her beloved brother who was shot by her father; her mother turns to drinking instead of caring for her only daughter. Dani is moved from foster home to foster home until she at last is placed in a home where she's secure. Her best friend is also her true love, until a boy from her past suddenly appears. Unnusual phone calls start and unveil a disturbing secret Dani had once forgotten. She must make a hard decision about who she truly loves, the boy who's been there all along or the new arrival who's brought up the past.… (mehr)
