E. Max Frye

I had to think about how to review this film. It's a story I certainly knew nothing about. It's a very slow build and I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I knew there was a murder but right until the end I did not know which brother it would be. The acting is fantastic but I felt the film was just slightly too long - 20 mins less would have been better. And of course, because it is a true story, you don't get the easy explanations as to what drove the final act of violence - jealousy, psychosis? No easy answers as in fiction. Conclusion - an interesting film but flawed.… (mehr)
